Future plans call for plumbing a 50g cube into my system. Since I already have my piece of the reef, I thought I'd do something a bit different.

I am considering setting up the 50g as a venomous tank to include dwarf lion(s), and scorpionfish. (Perhaps even a dwarf eel for variety.)

I don't remember anyone on ARC with this type of tank (of course I have a short memory).

What are your thoughts?

Larry..... That would be cool. I bought two identical tanks a few years ago. Both corner tanks. One was a predator tank (non reef safe) and the other was a carpet anemone tank. I think the Carpet anemone with some clowns would be cool. Most Carpet Nems will eat most other fish so it would most likely need to be a species tank. This one had a blue carpet and was beautiful!

the only reason I could see that being a bad idea is most predators produce ALOT of waste in uneaten bits of food and simply alot of poop.

Unless you plan on employing a denitrator and some GFO, I would expect your nutrient levels to skyrocket.

The 50g will be plumbed into a system that includes a 210g display tank and 50g sump/fuge with MR2-r skimmer and GFO/Carbon. I think the water quality will be ok, but have concerns about what type of cleanup crew is appropriate.

That was fun to read... I don't think I'll go that extreme!
