Is this a hair algae? It looks more fern like than the typical green hair algae I have seen before.

figi and tonga that has been in there many years now and marco dry rock added about 6 months ago

Thats what I was afraid of. It is only in patches here and there. What is the removal process? I have pulled it as much as possible and it only takes a couple days to reappear as if I never pulled it out to begin with.

I don't know about that tech m dosing. I have heard some bad stories. I have added a nitrate sponge and phosgaurd to lower my numbers. Neither are detectable but you know they are there because of the algae being present. Maybe add a sea hare if they will eat it?

I was just reading that. I so happen to have one in the fowler tank. I had taken it out of the reef due to his size.

Bryopsis

Research AlgaeFix and decide the pros and cons

It worked for me, although I think I dosed it too long and had a few softies turn brown. Nothing died though.

The important thing is that you get it before it takes over, and it will take over with no action...

I bought a foxface and have seen him eating it.:yay: He has cleared one big patch already.

It's bryopsis. The only thing I have seen eat it is a green lettuce slug. I had some in my tank. The slug would eat it but tech m was the real solution. The only problem is that you need to add so much. 1ml per gallon per day. It took 7 days and my mag level was 2500 for 2 weeks. I have a dosing pump so I was adding tech m slowly throughout the day. Bryopsis has not returned!!
