AcroPower by Two Little Fishies

I ordered a 500 Ml bottle of AcroPower after reading this article in ReefBuilders. I am interested to see what all of you find in using this product.

I have previously used Fuel with no positive results from what I observed.

Well, my Drs Foster Smith order got backordered. Stated in stock and ready to ship when I ordered, but no tracking yet so I looked on the website and it was backordered. Nice of them to let me know.

Called all Sponsors near me to try locally, but nothing in stock. Heard from one that they stopped carrying AcroPower because a couple people that tried it had some bleaching occur, so I'll keep that in mind when I try it.

Cancelled my Drs F&S order and got some from an online source that has the 500ml size in stock. Called and verified in stock this time. Might delay my start by a day or two.
 
Dr fosters must have sold out after that glowing review on Reefbuilders. They sure did heap on a lot of praise. Good luck and looking forward to hearing about your results.

A little off topic, but does reefbuilders ever say they don't like something? Kind of seems like one of those "send me free stuff and I'll tell everyone how great it is" sites.

I have seen them post skepticism about products in the past, but not in the last couple years. I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it, but a few years ago Reef Central, which is a Powerhouse as far as aquaria related websites go, had some type of technical issues. Not sure if it was server issues, lack of bandwidth, or whatever, but long story short the website crashed and was down for a short while. Right after the site went down, ReefBuilders pronounced Reef Central permanently dead on their website. Well, Reef Central was only down for a few days, if memory serves, and ReefBuilders had a huge Foot in Mouth moment with them, and totally destroyed any relationship they had with Reef Central, with Reef Central going as far as banning posting any links or references to ReefBuilders period, which is still in force, I believe.

My guess is that experience may have changed the way ReefBuilders does things, but just my own opinion. They may not want to burn any bridges after that big faux pas with Reef Central.
 
Anyone find this locally yet? I've seen a few before and after threads and people seem to like it overall.
 
I ordered online and started it on Monday this week , I must say opening the bottle it wasn't what i expected , no pigment or smell .
I expected it to smell like a multi vitamin.

That is exactly what Fuel smells like. And it is a bright neon green under blue led. Fuel has to be refrigerated after open in while acropower does not. Im not sure what difference that makes.

Main difference from a practicality standpoint, at least, is that the AcroPower can easily be dosed daily with a dosing pump, since it doesn't need refrigeration. Jury is still out whether it works or not, hehehe! I got mine last week, and have been dosing for about that long.

I keep a spare Masterflex drive unit and it came with an old school pump head, and I luckily had some tubing for it, so I came up with a semi-airtight dosing container that allows liquid to be drawn out and air to enter to replace the product that has gone, but keeps air from passing out and any evaporation, etc. The check valve and the intake tubing are held in place with outer grooved grommets fitted into the lid that work like Uniseals, and the lid is airtight. The dosing container is small, and holds just a bit over a liter of liquid.

I have the pump come on for 5 minutes a day, and it doses 13 ml of AcroPower, which is (about) one day's worth of the recommended 90 ml/week for my system volume. I drip it into the return section of my sump, right next to the return pump intake.

I've been dosing AcroPower as well one thing I haven't noticed in this thread is that you should dose during highest lighting period of the day. I'm using a BSR 1.1 ml pump for this and dosing 5.5ml per day to start,
I've only been dosing for a week so verdic is still out

That's a good thread on R2R about acropower. Some are starting to post before and after pics of using acropower. And if you're on reefcentral, search for a user zibba, his tank was awesome before he started dosing and thinks things have gotten even better since.

is everyone dosing during peak lighting period??? I have always been dosing Aminos (fuel) about 30 minutes after lights out once all the polyps start opening for feeding.

Just wondering what peoples consunses are so far? I'm about to order some.
 
I've been dosing it a little over a month now and the biggest thing I've noticed is reds are much brighter and deep in color
