Acrylic thickness

This post could really go in a few places, but Im posting here because it’s a freshwater tank thought. My wife loves Bettas. We currently have 4 in separate 5 gallon tanks.

Recently, someone was selling an IM AIO dual tank on FB marketplace and I wondered if I could create something similar. The dual tank is essentially a 20 gallon AIO with a clear divider in the middle. I have an extra 20L in the garage and am thinking about adding a black acrylic divider in the middle and creating 2-10g planted betta tanks. My question …. is a 1/4” piece thick enough? to thick? Has anyone tried this before?

It almost doesn’t matter. This is because if you have close to equal water level on both sides it doesn’t have to hold any pressure. Now if you had one side empty and one side full then yes it would matter more and acrylic on glass is not preferred assuming that the 20L is glass.
