Aiptasia and fresh water.. HELP PLEASE

If I were to soak a rock that had aiptasias on it in fresh water would it kill them? I know the rock would have no other life on it either if this worked. I am trying to clean out my aquapod which has aiptasias and would like to reuse some of the rocks but dont want to reinfest the tank.

Just a guess, but I would say yes.

They can and will survive fw. Bleach the rock and make sure everything is neutralized!
