Algae scrubber exit plumbing

Just curious if those who have an external algae scrubber, do you glue your pvc exit plumbing or just piece it together. It’s right over the sump so I’m not sure if a small leak will be that big of an issue

From my experience since there's not a lot of pressure you can kind of get away with putting plumbers tape around the end of your pipe and pushing it real good into the fittings. Naturally I can't say there's no chance of it leaking but I've run algae reactors hard plumbed without cementing anything
