Edit: I do completely trust the people on here but I will say you must have thick skin or you will get your feelings hurt real fast on this sight

I have thick skin to match my thick head. Mystery box try's to be tough but he is a *****cat. Dylan and Greg are nice as can be. Take what they say and listen to them and they will lead you to the promised land. Or Reef as the case may be.

Thanks Rich! Greg has the coral to prove his experience. The corals I've seen him sell are BEAUTIFUL.

Can't argue with you on that one. But I have seen your tank up close and personal ( and you didn't even see the bone cutters in my hand) and I have seen lots of picks of Ralph's tank. I think you guys do a pretty good job of keeping up. :-)

Thanks Rich. Just trying to do my best to help a fellow reefer out. I know how frustrating it can be getting used to a new test kit.

Lol, if you want to learn how to grow bubble algae.... I won't go there, but I know the secret... :)

Thanks man!

Thanks Dylan for the compliments, but I've seen your stuff as well and it looks great as well. Plenty of good people on this forum that have good results and can help out. Hope all goes well for him.

Oh man!!! You just ruined his image. He work for years to get that image and you ruin it in one little post. Hehehe

How are you measuring your pH? I had a similar issue recently where i couldn't add enough Alk to get my levels up without putting my pH through the roof. I decided to re-calibrate the probe on my Apex and found out that it was reading .2 too high. Now that I have the probe re-calibrated I was able to get my pH and Alk levels where they need to be.

yes I did have dkh and mg/l confused well not really confused just was tesing with a different test and was use to the multiplier for dkh anyway lesson learned. thanks again for all the help. by the way spank dog I have a lab grade probe on a reefkeeper and I calibrate it with 4,7 and 10 solution about every 3 months or so. I also have a hand held that test the same so I fell pretty sure its on.looks like the only thing I lost was 2 big cabbage leather corals. I have mostly softies and a couple lps.frogspawn, plate and gonipora.everything else is the easy stuff thank goodness.

just for future reference though if you really do need to raise alk and your ph is already high then you can use 8.4 by aquavitro. it has a pk of just over 8.4 so no matter how much of that you dose IT wont raise you ph over 8.4. but thats not to say that if you dosed anything else before that your ph wouldn go higher.
