so ive set up a 30 gallon tank...i cycled it with Seachem stability...i got hints of ammonia and nitrites long the way which is what they claimed would happen then my nitrates went up and back down which i thought was all good...that tok about 11 days...i added a cuc which has been in there for about a week and a half to 2 weeks, so the tank has been up and running about 3-4 weeks...ive had an emerald crab in there , about 10 burrowing snails and some astrea...i last tested about 4 days ago and ammonia, nitrite and nitrates were all 0...on a whim today i bought a possum wrasse and introduced it....then i tested again (yes i know i should have tested today before introducing the fish)...nitrites and nitrates are 0 but to my horror ammonia is 0.50-0.60
i have been putting some flakes in the tank for the few crabs i have in there..could this be the cause of the amonia spike?...ive also not seen all the burrowing snails so i suppose one could have died as well...what should i do...should i use some of the stability or should i do a big water change?...im kinda panicking cause i dont want the new fish to die
