are there any 'technically' reef safe eels??? i read up a little and didnt see any that were not marked as 'reef safe'.

however, i know thats not always true. any of you guys have one?

another main question was whether or not a solana would be okay in terms of size. i have no problem selling him once he gets too large

I think the solana would be a poor size for 99% of eels.. Considering how big they get quickly, it would be a very temporary home.. They are also very messy eaters and would foul the water pretty quick..
Not to even mention the ease of getting out of the smallest opening..

Maybe a dwarf Hawaiian dragon eel.....but they get super pricey....and like Ansley said.....may not wanna get one.....unless you feel like basically breaking down the tank to get him out later....they big big fast....but you'd be suprised how small a crevice a 3" eel can fit himself into....

Golden dwarf eel would be the only eel I would consider. I got mine from Chris at Fish Scales. You would need to make sure the top was secure as they can escape from small spaces. Kevin at Warehouse Aquarium has also had them

yeah....guess that is out of the question then, haha.

i don't like having a top on my tank, really. thanks for all the input, guys!!
