Anemone and clown fish don't like each other

Hey guys I have had my bubble tip anemone in the tank for about 2 months and as the same with the clown fish pair but they won't go with the anemone is there anytips out there for getting them to host in him

What kind of clowns? Some species seem to have a stronger urge than others, to team up with an anemone. Sometimes it's almost instant, sometimes it takes weeks or months, and sometimes it doesn't happen at all.

Some people "force" a pairing by putting them all in a basket etc., but I'm not one who does that, it will either happen on its own, or it won't.

Be patient.

It was 6 months and then I came home and they were both in the anemone. Have no idea what changed their mind.

"Fancy" isn't a specie... are they A. ocellaris or A. percula? Those, in my experience, have a lesser instinct to be hosted, than some other species (such as A. frenatus, A. melanopus, etc.)

How big is the tank, again? My clowns wouldn't leave their corner of my 120g. After 2 months of waiting, I moved the rock that my anenome was on (in the center of the tank) over to the corner that my clowns were hosting, and they instantly jumped right in. The female wouldn't let the male join for about a day, but he persisted, and was able to join in eventually. I now have 1 large RBTA hosting 2 maroon white-striped clowns and 1 anenome crab. The clowns feed the anenome, and the crab eats the anenome poop... LOL...

Well the anemone has actually walked to where the clowns are but the just wont give it the time of day to host in it

I'm in the same boat... 29 gallon BIOCube with 2 ocellaris clowns and an BTA. They sleep within inches of each other but no hosting happening.

Just FYI, clownfish do not host anemones. Some anemones, however, may host certain species of clownfish.

My two juvie tank raised clowns took to my rbta. They completely ignored my bta until I decided to feed the nem pellet food that I feed my clowns (which they go crazy for). Once they smelled the food in the nem they started rubbing their faces in the nem, and within the next half hour they were hiding inside.

Sounds like you have a pair of sustainable aquatics fancy ocellaris. Its just a variety that has deeper black lines and brighter color. I've seen them host. Might just take a little more time for your pair to figure it out. Good luck.

+1. I have the same type and its been almost a year with no luck.

had my rbta 3.5 months and my ocellaris clowns don't give it the time of day. I've seen one brush up against it's tenticles a few times but never actually get in or ponder it.
