I picked up a GBTA a couple weeks ago. When it's happy, it opens up to about 6 or 7 inches, maybe more. When, I got him I don't think he was entirely happy. Since then, it started to developed two distinct circular patterns. I assumed it was on it's way to splitting.
The two circular patterns have been noticeable for a while, but in the meantime, it has been becoming more green by the day and forming the nice bubble tips, I thought all was good.
Tonight when I came home, I went to the aquarium to take a roll call and started to admire how healthy the nem was looking. The tip ends started showing a purple (maybe dark red) dot. This made me feel really good because it was starting to look like the "pictures."
Then, right before my eyes, it went phsyco! The nem basically started puking his brains out, then deflated and retreated. I don't really know what to think at this point. I had just fed the tank pellets.
Could it be splitting finally? How does it happen? Is it like a pregnant woman? Fine, fine, fine... then all of a sudden chaos?
Do you think he caught some of the pellets and didn't like them?
I'd take a pic, but there really isn't much to see at this point.
Any advice?
