Our Green Bubble Tip Anemone disappeared about a month ago, and we found him tonight in our sump!
It would have needed to squeeze through the overflow inlet, which has slats about 1" high x 1/4" wide. Then he would have gone through a wild-ride along 8 feet of 1-1/2" PVC into the next room, where our 75gallon sump is located.
My problem is that he is firmly attached to the UV sterilizer in the sump. I tried to nudge him off with no luck, and didn't want to risk injury to the GBTA so I have placed the entire UV into the main tank and am waiting for him to leave.
Any suggestions on removing Anemone from objects that they have latched onto? Or how to prevent them from going through the overflow again?
Fully expanded the anemone is about 6" wide, but when compacted it gets down to a little less than 2 inches.
