Our RBT anemone split/divided into two this morning :) and I was wondering about feeding them as we have not experienced this before. Prior to the split we were supplementing mysis shrimp every other day but were considering giving it a small chunk of larger shrimp as it's size had greatly increased since we purchased it. Now that it has split when would you recommend feeding them and would you recommend continuing the smaller mysis shrimp until they increase in size? Also, how often do they split or does it just vary from nem to nem? Thank you in advance for your advice!!

It varies from nem to nem. But I would give it a couple of days then continue feeding as normal. Also I'd buy your split from you if you're selling it

You'll probably have to wait ~ 7-10 days before the mouth is healed enough to be able to resume feeding it.

Congratulations on your baby RBTAs!

Yes we are very excited about our baby nems. We aren't going to sell these two because we are going to leave one in our 92 gal and put the other in our 29 gal that we are setting up, however, any that split after that will be for sale.

I would give about 2 weeks. If you watch them closely you can tell when its mostly healed. Its pretty cool to me the split side of the nems tentacles will begin to grow. After a week or so you will see these tentacles feeling around trying to get a feel of things. When you start to see this your getting close. Don't worry if it moves but do be aware that wandering nems are attracted to powerheads and often will commit suicide.
