I have a thing for anenomes. I have a rose bubble tip , green bubble tip, and a yellow sebae. All 3 are doing great. Here is my question one of our LFS in Chattanooga had a one day sale carpets $50. I now have a beautiful green carpet (havent picked him up yet been traveling) to add to my other 3. I have heard they can be agressive but if you keep them well fed shouldnt be a problem. What is the best things to feed them and how often do you feed them? Thanks Bill

I am not so sure I agree with that statement. The thing that makes carpets so aggressive is their potent sting and super sticky tentacles. Feeding it more will not subside those qualities of the nem. Fish besides clowns do tend to disappear in a tank with carpet nems. When I had mine, I fed it everything I could think of and it still claimed 2 diamond gobies and a tang. Good luck :)

Ooh that is a little scary. What all did you feed it? Hope it doesnt eat my other fish!

90 gallon tank the 2 bubbles are up high in the rock and the sebae hangs out in the sand on one end. They never move. I know some wander around but seem to like where they are and dont move

While I have heard this before, I didn't see anything like that when I had my rose, green bubble, Haitian and green carpet in a 20T, with no skimmer. I am in no way saying it couldn't/wont happen, it just didn't for me. post a pic of your tank, I love nems too :) Here was my 20T.

So what happened in your 20 with all those nems? They all got along no problems?

I fed the carpet formula 1 cubes, pellets, krill, brine, mysis....literally anything that went in the tank, the carpet ate. Like I said, I never had any issue with the nems. As you can see in the pic, the BTA and carpet are really close. They would always touch...never really did anything. A few times the carpet would retract, but a few minutes later they would be back on each other. I wish I still had that tank running, it was amazing....but I took it down to consolidate tanks. All the nems in that tank went into a 55, and all remained happy for about a year before I took that tank down to move. I sold the carpet to Raj and the rose and bta went with me into my 140. I do believe part of my success was how on top of my husbandry I was back then. That 20g nem tanks water parms were perfect. Perhaps that played in a role of them playing nice??? not sure.
