Hey all, I have a flame angel that i have had for about a year or maybe over a year. Anyway, its in a 40g breeder with SPS, LPS, and softies. It has never nipped at any of the corals and to this day has never nipped any corals. However, its started to show signs of aggression towards my black and white clowns. Its keeping them in a corner by the overflow. I also recently noticed that the lower fins near the tail, that have the purple and such, have been nipped off. by what? i do not know.

what could be causing its aggression?

Just competition for space and food. That's all I can guess with it in a 40g. Do you use a veggie clip for it? That may help occupy it a little

i tried the veggie clip with some 'weed' on it when i first got him... the angel looked at me funny and if it had finger i'm sure it would of done so lol it just ignored it but i will try it again... i still have some left, does it go bad?

heh?

Nah, don't think the seaweed can go bad, it's already dried out, right?

Oh, and clowns are damsels, so I'd bet the flame got too close, and if they're a "pair" then they may have something to defend.

Rubberband some nori to a rock and drop it on the other side of the tank. He should pick at it all day long. The clip probably freaked him out and he didn't get used to it.

haha i think someone threw out my "weed" anyway... o well, i guess i'll ride up to petco'n' to get some then..
