Just purchased a French Angelfish 2 days ago. It was acting normal the first day, swimming around and eating. But since yesterday it has been staying in the top left corner of the tank. It also wont eat anything. The two large tangs have a little bit of aggression towards him, but not too much. What should I do? How do I get him to act normal again?

Try turning out the lights for a couple of days to let everybody chill out a bit. You might want to rearrange the rocks a bit so the established fish think they've been moved to a new territory, and as such might be a bit less aggressive.

Frenches can usually hold their own - is it still eating? Any signs of injury or illness?

Its not eating, no signs of illness...

Well, not eating is typical if it's being bullied. I'd try leaving the tank dark for a couple of days and see if that settles the bullies down.

The only fish that is bullying him is a large doctorfish. Have you had any experience with one?

No, only have a couple of 30g tanks. But I have a horrible clownfish that would tear up anything new. To fix that I always just added like 2 or 3 fish so he couldn't really fixate on one. He would get over them eventually, and everything becomes peaceful again

Find a suitable printer with color. Print out a photo of that angel and tape it onto your tank. It will confuse the **** out of the fish bullying it. This will save you money from adding more fish to lessen the bully load.

I wouldnt suggest this. The angel is stressed and adding more images of that angel is a bad idea and will cause more stress.

lol ok hold on now...IF you go with the picture approach you need to print a picture of the fish that is bullying not the fish thats being bullied. let that fish fight himself for a few days but you know whats a million times easier then this and can be used over and over... a mirror. works like a charm
