For those interested, another ship, this time the "Bob Barker" collided at sea with a Japanese whaler.

And the trimaran got sunk too! That was an amazing boat!

Length: 24-meters (78-feet)
Vessel Type: tri-hull wavepiercer / powerboat
Max Speed: 50 knots
Coolest Maneuver: Capable of submarining up to 7m (23ft) underwater
Famous For: Recently set the world record for global circumnavigation
Former Name: Earthrace

Also, if you look up the video of the them explaining the boat it had a carbon fiber coating to make it almost invisble to radar, ran on bio-diesel and a bunch of other modifications.

"At a fundraising event in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 17th, 2009, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society unveiled their newest ocean defense vessel: the Ady Gil. The vessel, previously known as the Earthrace, is a fast, futuristic looking trimaran that recently set the world record for global circumnavigation. The vessel renaming reflects the ship’s benefactor, Ady Gil, who helped acquire the vessel."

Departed - December 10, 2009, for the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary Operation Waltzing Matilda
Sunk - Jan 5th, 2010
(That didn't last too long, huh?)
