Any ideas how to lower my calc???

So I just tested my calcium lvl about an hour or so ago....and it's right at 500.... :-( I haven't dosed calcium or anything since I just got my calc test kit....it's a seachem Btw.....ran the calibration test first and it was right on....tested my water twice and same reading.....any ideas.....I wouldn't think it would actually hurt anything at the moment....but I know it's not in optimum range

It'll lower on its own when it's used up by corals.

The important question is where is your Alk and Mg in relation to this number?

Alk is at 9.....still gotta get a magnesium test.....

And I was all excited to check out the seachem reef fusion I just got today.....guess I won't be dosing that for a bit

Lol.....not yet!....yeah I've been checking for precipitation lately.....but I guess that doesn't occur unless it's above 700 or so.....at least from what I know

Yeah I do on average 2-3 a week....sooooo....guess I just need more SPS to use it right....

I have the same thing going on and I do 25 percent water changes every week n a half

What Salt are you guys using? Are you doing something to buffer it that high or are you using a salt like Oceanic that has extremely high calc? I used Oceanic for awhile and it ran my Calc in the 500-540 range. I have since switched so my Calc has lowered back to normal limits. I didn't seen any precipitation events, but have heard of them happening in the mid-high 500 range if magnesium isn't well kept.
