Hey guys. I know I've been posting a lot lately; there is SO much to learn. I had no idea how involved this hobby is, but I do love it!
I recently purchased a piece of live-rock from my LFS with what appears to be a small muscle growing on it, a baby feather duster, and various other life. In addition to these however, there are two things that appear to be a type of anemone (pictured). Seeing as I am so new to all of this, I was hoping to get some advice from all of you who are more experienced than I. My LFS was not sure if these are a type of soft coral, anemone, etc. The pictures are not perfect, but I am hoping they are clear enough to get some feedback. I would like to figure out what they are so I know how to care for them and I can let my LFS know; they are good people and never feed me a line. If they don't know for sure, they are never afraid to come out and say so! To help with the lack of focus in the pics, both of these "animals(?)" are attached with a base that resembles that of an anemone. When they were first introduced to my tank yesterday afternoon, they shrunk and had a little "slime" like an anemone sometimes does (they are in full "bloom" at them moment). The color pattern is green, red, purple, and white hues (very vibrant) with a white base. Under intense light, these colors almost seem to glisten like a prism; quite beautiful really. Finally, the "tentacles" are extremely short (unlike any anemone I have seen) and soft; maybe 2-3mm long. I hope this information helps along with the picture. For now, I am treating it as if it is an anemone (lots of light, microplex, etc). Thank you!
