I've never bought any livestock on line before. Aquacon.com had a couple of things I'd never seen retail so I placed an order with them. That was Wednesday morning at 6:00am. I followed up with an email to get an estimated shipping date etc. The phone number listed simply tells you they don't answer the phone and to send an email. I sent another email today and have yet to hear from them at all. Anyone eer dealt with this co. before?

I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about AC..
The owner(name escapes me right now) is rather nice though.. I talked to him on the phone for about a hour one day about eels..

That's been the frustrating part is no one has yet to answer the phone. I've probably called over 12 times since yesterday and no one has ever answered. I just want to know what's going on with my order.

Always heard bad stuff about them. Just spend a few buck more and buy from a reputable store.

If they will not return your phone call before an order God forbid you need to get in touch with them if you have a problem.

If it's the place near Ft. Lauderdale, then I sure hope they've improved.

I got several fish and corals from Aquacon located near Ft. Lauderdale way back in 2003. They had such awful customer service, advice, and packing (I went to their store in person), that I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against them. :yuk: Everything died.

Good luck!

I've left 4 messages on the answering machine and sent 4 emails as well. I've heard nothing in 2 days from them and no shipment confirmation. If I don't have one from FEDEX by 8:00pm tonight, I guess all I can do is call my bank and start working to get my money back.

And, yes, it's the one in Ft. Lauderdale.

THAT BLOWS bro, everytime this subject comes up about buying online i hear just buy it from a local store, spend a few extra bucks. i don't have a problem with buying local and from sponsers, but they don't have what i want, well just tell them what you want, don't think it's that easy. i want hermits that i can actually see  with the naked eye. i want JADE hermits, pretty green ones, i want five peppermint shrimps for 20 bucks, sorry got a little carried away there. granted the shipping is high but they have what i want. i've had good luck with saltwaterfish.com. hate to advertise for them, could a local shop get a large order together and profit from it at the same time for the club and get some things we want.

Yep. I got bit by the "never even seen this being sold before" bug. Think I got it resolved through my bank just a minute ago.

Yeah, it would have been. Good thing is, kudos to Regions bank for canceling the transaction and pulling my money back. It was still "pending" so it was a quick easy step. I'm very very lucky.

I've never heard anything good about them. Sometimes it's good to just google the online stores name before hitting the buy button. Another red flag is if it labeled "rarely seen" in the hobby it's usually for a reason.

It has been a while since I have seen their name come up but they used to have a bad reputation.

Get it?

Aqua Con?

Con?

Con Artist?

:)

I've heard that pun many times over the years. The name is really short for Aquatic Connection... but that pun keeps on going around.

Not off topic at all. Anyone that's had trouble like that, it's good to be made aware.
