I was looking at flow options and have seen these before just don't know anything about them or how well they work.

I use one on my wife's cube... but it's just running off a Mag 5 so it doesn't do anything dramatic... just alternates as advertised.

I use one now. Don't hesitate to get one, they are awesome! Mine is hooked up to a mag 7, i think it swiches every 15 seconds or so.

It'll switch depending on how much flow you have going through it. I use to run one on my old 15g tank with a mag3. I liked it. Be careful when clamping hoses to it, the plastic can crack if you're not careful. I think they are great and would buy one again if the need ever presented itself.

FYI, the small one will switch with very low flow if need be... I tested it with a MaxiJet 1200 w/ almost 3' of head and it switched, even though the flow was very weak.

Also the 1" (Larger one) can actually be hard piped in with PVC etc. no hose clamps from what I have been told and I think on the company website the have all aprox. switching times as it relates to the flow through the unit.

I love mine with one exception.. LOL I need to take it off and give it a vinegar soak.. Its stopped switching lately....Nothing more than normal maint.
