Anyone use Distilled water (from Kroger) as top off? or for water changes?

That ^ is referred to as passivation and the green tint that results is often called a Patina

I was trying say it in simple layman's terms.

I'm in the fastener industry and deal with quite a few different plantings and finishes. Passivation in several grades of stainless also refers to the reduction of carbon in the 1st few microns of the surface. This limits corrosion.

When I collected coins it was called "toning" as well.

Nemo's, Atlanta aquarium doesn't have RODI water ?

Nemos only has ro water and for a year had no issues with algae and rarely do water changes just top off Kroger distilled water and I have a cover on my IM NUVO 10 so Lea’s than a gallon evaps per week
