I wanted to turn up the heat in my tank a touch today but my new heater wont let me. It's only about two weeks old (last Pet Mountain group purchase).
It is set on 79 degrees, and won't budge any higher, although the thermostat knob easily turns to the lower settings. Is this a safety mechanism in the heater of some sort that I'm over looking or is it a malfunction ?

Thanks

If I remember correctly - push it in while turning higher...

That product is the only thing that has broken my heart. Stay away

Dakota,

watch that heater like a hawk, we bought one when we set up the tank and it was off by 4 degrees (hotter) I vanquished it to the 5 gallon bucket to heat new salt mix and glad I did, the last batch I mixed came out at 106 degrees with the heater set at 71. never banged it around, just very defective.

Seriously bud. First one stuck and wiped out 90% of my coral, all shrimp and a few fish. (powder blue acted like nothing happened. Weird!) Second one got caught sticking yesterday and is currently waiting on the trash man to pick up tomorrow. Ya could use it to heat up soup though
