Was wondering why type of lighting should they be under. Should they be in bright lighting or medium?

okay, I had mines just abit above the middle of the tank under some t5's. Just decided to do some reading on them and found out that they do better in a low light setting.

They can do fine in high lighting, but I found that I had better colors under PCs than MHs.

Not trying to highjack this thread, but what kind of zoa's are those in your profile pic? they look cool.

Lunar Palys from "JAustin". Growing like a wildfire in my 90 now, started with 2-3 polyps, probably 50+ now a year later.

My rics look great under 400 watt halides. They are very adaptable to different light levels, IME.

I notice mines looked like they were fading so I moved them towards the bottom of the tank and they have more color. I think one has two mouths so does that mean they are going to split?

The one's that are under T5's in a low flow area and not under direct light are doing great.

mine seem to shrink in direct light. I have 4x24watt t5ho. rics are about 12 inches under the light (shallow tank). When i put them in the shade they expand a LOT
