Anyone have any experience with the Apex display not working?

Before I tear into the web and Neptune for help, I thought that I would ask.

Thx

No idea Matt. I just bought this used today. He said it used to work and may need a display. I would really like to test it with a known good display just to see if it lights up.

I'm a newb with these.

Bud I have not tried anything yet. Just thought that a 'lights on' check might be easy to do with the CPU and/or display, just to point me in one direction or the other. Or, that someone else had a display problem, and could say try x,y,z.

Maybe I will just go play around with it, and see what I can figure out.

You may want to try plugging it into a working unit as two display can be attached to the EB8. Just to verify it is in fact working. You're more than welcome to use mine if you'd like.

Bud told me how to use my router and see if I can communicate. I will do that first.

I may take you up on that, if no one any closer, and I'm not having luck with other tests.

Yea that's a good idea too. If he didn't tell you already try typing "http://apex" in your browser. If it doesn't come up you may have an issue communicating with the unit since you can't see what IP it's using nor can you really even be sure it's on the same subnet (meaning it has an IP that's compatible with the rest of the IPs on your network). When you do connect it if you can't find the unit's IP try a program called Angry IP Scanner (Google it). You can use it to scan all used IPs on your network to see which are in use then you can try to pull up each iIP in your web browser by typing something like "http://192.168.1.100". Let me know if you have questions I'll try to help. Good luck!

Thanks guy's.

(if this goes anything like I'm thinking, these guys will have me writing custom sub's in C and Java before they're done with me ;)

Bill, i have Eugene from Neptunes support personal cell number from when i set mine up.he gave it incase ii ever needed on the spot help. Ill see if i cant find it tomorrow

Thanks Mike.

I bought 3 different controllers.
-One for the main tank (Apex),
-one for the frag system (Apex Lite), and
-one (Aquacontroller II)...just because.

I may be picking his brain before all is done.

I will see if I can find it. I fear it was on all the Neptune paperwork I threw out when I sold mine. He's a great guy. He helped me with a 2 hour phone call. Helped set everything up how I wanted it set by step.

If the display still doesn't work after all the above suggestions, I've got one. Mine had an issue not working. (Took a swim. Twice!) Mine is working again.

Bill, what's the status? Did you get it running or just put it aside for a while?

I got busy redoing the frag system Bud.

Got my hands full with that and Mufrets tank move today.
