yea, probably going to trade a perfectly good reef computer for another perfectly good one :)

QUESTION
what is the difference in the APEX and the APEX lite?
I have a lab grade PH probe that is currently in use.... is this the only difference in the package?

Thanks,
B

Full Apex has an extra ph/ORP port, and 6 switch inputs built in. Also includes a ph probe.

As far as I can tell, that's it.

SOOO.. I could use one ph port in my sump to monitor display ph and use the other as a controller ? right

I have a spare APEX base unit (brains) only that I was keeping around as a backup but have just not needed it and don't think I ever will. http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/neptune-systems-base-module">http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/neptune-systems-base-module</a>
I'd sell it to you for $200

Seth, you just saved me a ton of money down the road. Had no idea the base unit could be purchased separately. Perfect way to upgrade from my Jr. I think I know what part of my Father's Day/Birthday/Anniversary present will be this summer :yay:.

B,

The difference in the lite and full setup is the lite has 1 ph port and the full has 2 ports for either ph or ORP. The other difference is that the full APEX has 4 variable speed/dimming ports and the lite does not. Both of these issues can be overcome by adding a pm1 module and a VDM module. I use the full setup, I monitor tank ph, orp for my ozone and I have a pm1 that monitors the ph in my calcium reactor. I have the MM LEDs and hope to hook the dimmers up fully one day.

You can order the lite or full with either no ph probe, a lab grade or a standard.

Hey Brandon,
I lifted this from the manual (http://www.neptunesystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Comprehensive-Reference-Manual-.pdf">http://www.neptunesystems.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Comprehensive-Reference-Manual-.pdf</a>)
Here's a link to the forum, it has a lot of good ideas. You should be able see some possiblites of what it can do... ( I hope that I'm allowed to post here- [IMG]http://forum.neptunesystems.com/forum.php">http://forum.neptunesystems.com/forum.php</a>). I think there was someone who integrated one into their home-brew set up!

I got the Apex Lite, I in hindsight I wish that I had gotten the full unit. It is possible to buy separate modules, piece by piece.
