API algaefix?

5 months old ,I do a 3 gallon water change everyday too every other day, depending on how dirty my sand is . I change my carbon purigen and phosguard weekly, I do use publix r o water though. and I feed my 5 little fish a tiny bit of flake twice a day.

IMHO testing for phosphates is all but useless. If you see algae, you have an excess amount of phosphates. Your test kits can easily read 0 as the phosphates are being consumed by the algae that is growing. To me, it's just not worth wasting the 5 min to get a number that doesn't really do you any good to begin with.

Snails have never worked for me on HA. The best way i have found to remove it is with a sea hare. Of course, if you don't find a way to export nutrients, it will grow back.

Wow. My astreas couldn't get enough of the stuff. They wouldn't just graze. They'd find a spot of GHA and completely annihilate it. It was awesome to watch.

Yes, testing for phosphates in the aquarium is next to useless. But testing the water before it goes in, not so much. No point in just feeding algae.
