This subject gets old but who has experience with the majano wand now that its been out a while? I don't think killing them is the issue, but eradicating them entirely from your tank is the ultimate result that would certainly make this product valuable.

They work I got rid of them in my tank. I built my own but its works the same

aptasia x works to kill them, but they will come back if you dont get them all. pair that with some peppermints should work. my tank used to be covered, but i'm down to only a handful spread over a 6' tank.

I do not have any experience with the wand; however, I bought an aptasia eating file fish and it has eradicated the aptasia in my tank.

One note, I think that once you have aptasia in your system, they are pretty much there for good. I had a break out in my tank a couple of years ago and introduced the file fish. Once the aptasia where eliminated, I sold the file fish and thought all was well.... about 1-2 months later the aptasia slowly returned. I went ahead and bought a new file fish and plan on leaving him in my tank for good.

My two peppermints keep my 90g completely aiptasia-free. I wonder what would happen if -- like your filefish -- they were suddenly gone.

Thanks. I've used concentrated sodium hydroxide but it kills the coralline on the live rock. It does kill the aptasia but I like my coralline so I try not to use it.

For me, the wand was too much effort to use. It seemingly took minutes to kill each one, and I felt like it required three 3 hands to operate. Peppermint shrimp all the way. :)
