Aqua Illumination

I bought the Super Blues. That's a no brainer. Much better color. Funny thing I see across most of the boards is the fact that people seem to get too many units for their tank. They will buy 4 then dial them all down. Start with fewer, pump up the output, and if it's not what you want you can always buy more.

some par reading

I would have to buy the 72" fixture for my 84" tank - $3,200!! wow thats crazy but I do like the controller and the fact it is 6 seperate modules chained together so I can remove or add as needed. it said to use a coupon code for additional discount but I didnt want to create an account and sign in to see it

I emailed them to see what the discount is - if its 10% on that fixture it will be hard not to pull the trigger.

you know what the best thing is - MADE IN THE USA!!!

Having 100+ PPFD over less than 33% of the area under the fixture is a fundamental design flaw, IMO. And, that's from the Aquaillumination product ONLY. The others fare far worse on irradiance coverage measurements! Just study the Aquaillumination plot, it's a CONE for crying out loud. What our corals need is a 'top hat' (ie-flat) distribution.

I am going to design my own, and not implement them until I get 100+ PPFD over all of the area under the fixture area. Otherwise, why bother?

As for the prices, they are ludicrous.

I want to buy one of yours then!!!

Gary- I have been thinking about your tank, a lot! I will speak with you about this in detail when I come by.

I think a high power 'integrated array' of LED's would just be the 'ish (as my 16 year old puts it)! :D

I think that is why people are using so many of the modules and just not running them @ 100%. But i do agree the price is hard to swallow.

my issue is that i dont like the white look at all - I only run my whites for a couple hours a day when im not at home becasue i just cant stomach the look of it - I would run 100% actinic if I could

I tried the discount code for the 2 module kit, and it was a discount of $32. The 6 module kit 72" the discount was like $99. i would like to know if they give the 10% club discount

wow - $99 off $3299, thats only 3%

I checked their sponsor page and in the first post there is a back n forth about the discount. I guess they dont offer 10% across the board. They offer ARC members 5% and anything past that is on a case by case basis and you have to call them.
