So i have a quick question about aqua scaping? If you are using live rock could you do this same thing? I have some sitting in a 10gal tank witha HOB filter running for flow. How would I plan out my scape?
Yeah that's what I thought. Thanks for the info. You can use the same process with the rods the biggest difference is you have to try to keep the rock as wet as possible and not let is sit out too long otherwise you'll start to have die off since I'm working with dead rock is a lot easier.
Wanna help me with my aqua scape. Lol.
Thank you so much, I appreciate it. It was nice because I was actually able to get the wife involved with it! It's a pain, but it's really worth it when you sit back and look at it and know you did it. I'm going to let it cycle at least two months before I even attempt to put any fish in. If im lucky I may get my first frag for Christmas! It looks great! The wonderful thing about aqua scaping, is that there is very few wrong ways to do it. So the presure is off. You just do what looks best to you. It is the reflection of what type of scape you are presenting and conveying. It is the skeleton for your artwork of corals. Once the tank becomes mature, one sees less of the rock work but it does give us the realistate and possibilities of placement for different types of corals...As far as distance to the lights and effects of the flow. Cant wait to see it up and going!
Why eggcrate? They are detritus trap
Thank you, I tried to use everyone's input and make different levels and stuff. I couldn't imagine how @myaquariumpro felt when doing all that rock for his tank!I was going to say the same thing as Hui about the eggcrate. It also makes it harder for any water to flow through the sand along with any burrowing critters.
I really like the scape though. I have a three island scape too. My only regret is that I didn't make enough terraces with flatter pieces to mount coral. You look to have that covered.
Exactly, plus I wasn't getting anywhere with the jb water weld! Im glad I listened to the guys and used the rods. It is a bit of a pain to drill depending on the porous off the rock, but it goes together a lot easier once drilled.Yeah I was thinking how I was going to attach my rock together. At first I was going to go epoxy but I saw some videos about using rods and I switched my mind. And the thing that did it for me was that it's not permanent. Just slide the rods out and wham bam thank you ma'am, you can change the scape.
