I stumbled across this a couple months ago and thought "thats a great idea!". Its a battery powered air pump that plugs in. When it senses the power go out it turns on. I thought this was an appropriate time to set it up cuz my powered has flickered on and off a few times due to the storm. I have bsttery powered air pumps for emergencies but i physically have to be there to turn them on. This is great tho i just tucked it away in the corner of the tank and sure enough if the power goes out it kicks on. This is a great cheaper alternative for reefers that dont want to spend big bux on mp40s and battery backups. Ill prob purchase another 2 so i have 1 in sump 1 in display and 1 in frag tank. P.S. youll need to buy some longer airline they only include a 1 foot line which is useless but its a great deal for 20$20200725_145523.jpg20200725_145604.jpg20200725_145633.jpg20200725_150652.jpg

I have used the above unit and now use the Cobalt for this purpose in some of my tanks. I found that the aquatop unit did not hold up well to salt water environment and degraded due to moisture and salt in air very quickly. The Cobalt has more plastic less metal parts so it seems to be holding up better. But in the long run, we hope to switch to generator solution. 3CA993B7-536C-439F-9DFE-54DD499EAD44.png
