I fired up the pendent I got with my new tank and it started sparking like hell. I discovered that the light base is fried! Are there any way to get replacement parts or does anyone here have one they would be willing to sell? I uploaded a couple pics to show what I'm talking about.

I had the same issue with one. The sockets are junk. I managed to clean the contacts enough to use it, but I was going to replace the sockets. I quit using them soon after and never did replace them. I think you can find better sockets at Marine Depot or maybe one of the ARC sponsors.

I don't think you have to use Aquamedic parts, I think the sockets are fairly universal...

I have a couple sets of these and been using them for 2-3 years without problems.

Can you get some like this at Home Depot?

Schwaggs you ARE the man! :yay:

I have a duel 250w A.M. fixture. I got a hold of the company's US rep and all the parts are interchangeable. Any other socket will work. They also use M80 ballasts if it's not electronic. I'm getting ready to take mine apart and either take the ballasts out and wire them remotely or change them out to electronic. Once you open them up it's the same as having a retro kit.

Guys I really appreciate all of this, I've never really dealt with MH lights before. So forgive me for sounding so newb.

No problem, good luck with the repair. Also, make sure to keep the HQI bulb clear of any oil from your hands. If you get any on the bulb, clean the bulb with alcohol before firing it up.

The actual glass of the bulb or the metal ends?

Thanks man, I will let you know :)
