Has anyone ever used a AQUARIPURE NITRATE FILTER. They do not use sulphur and you only add a carbon source(Vodka or sugar)never change media. Said this has been in use since 2003 on salt and fw tanks. Any first hand info would be appreciated. :D Thanks, Holley

Ive seen them used, its basically the same thing as dosing your tank with vodka or sugar except it contains the bacteria in the reactor. Almost the same way as those N&P pellet reactors.

The only thing is they are tricky to get tuned and can be a pain to keep tuned. Plus you constantly have to remember to dose the food.

If youre going to go to that trouble, just carbon dose the tank. If you want something easier look into a pellet reactor or a sulphur reactor.

Im actually considering trying a pellet reactor, but the sulphur reactor ive been running for about 4 years now is just so easy and cheap!
