So I finally have all the LR I need, sump complete, and the tank aquascaped to our liking. I am open to any suggestions. BTW... what does the middle rock look like to you?

That is EXACTLY why it is my favorite rock. Thanks to Jenn! It just fits our personality!

LOL I can't walk through the living room without giggling on the inside and outside when I see that rock... we did well! I laughed at it this morning before I left for work as a matter of fact. I don't think it'll ever get old!

Yes. the one in there will become a spare. Korilia im thinking, don't know if I should go with a 2 or 3 or multiple... What do you suggest?

It is a 55. Softies, SPS, no clams in the near future. I am running around 550 gph through the sump. A decent power head is in the near future. Maybe a 2 and a 3? with placement of coral type dependent on flow near by? Or just go with 2 3s and be done with it?

You are right, with head, it is probably around 300. 575gph with about 4 feet of head. Just looked at the chart. 2 K3s it is then. What do you suggest about placement?

On RC they have a headloss calculator on there that you can factor in elbows,T's,45's,vertical and horizontal pipe length and get a better figure for close to actual gph..

Perfect! We'll order the K3s today. I need more outlets. Guess a trip to Fry's is in order for a 9 outlet 36" strip.

the middle rock is "interesting" haha, but from the pics it doesnt look like it will offer much in the way of horizontal surface area for coral placement (unless you're just going to glue stuff to the sides.

looks good imo though

I am not sure the "finger" will get coral. It is kind of a running joke and it would be a shame to cover it up. The base rock it is on offers plenty of flat surface. for coral as do the arch to the left and the stack on the right. I might glue some kind of SPS to the left side to make a "thumb" but only time will tell. I am excited about the potential it has though.

You might want to keep an eye out for some smaller pieces of LR to add around the pieces in there and give some more surface area for placing corals. Big rocks are good for the foundation but smaller rocks can fit together and give you more of a natural look when stacked in a mound.

I have some of Tim's lights from Keen coming. Look in sig, I put the specs there for easy reference for the time being. Right now its just CF, when the lights are ready I will have the new wave 4 bulb T5s he has over his tanks now. If someone has a par meter I can borrow when I get them set up I would be grateful.
