Soo show me some pics! Also do you use the Orphek bars with other lights? Which Orphek do you use? How good are the results as far as growth and color?Um Rainblood has them too
Oh well...its a new tank so no results to show however they seem very well built. And very sexy.Soo show me some pics! Also do you use the Orphek bars with other lights? Which Orphek do you use? How good are the results as far as growth and color?
Says the one with the stone koi pond that is the size of a swimming poolObviously I’m not really one for aesthetics…I’m more of a functional guy

I'll have to disagree with you on 400 Par at the bottom of a 40 breeder with 4 T5 bulbs. I have a 36" Aquatic Life Hybrid and mounted 10" off the water, I had 100-150 PAR at the bottom of my 40 Breeder with the T5's on and my Mitras set to 80% using the Radion AB+ spectrum. (2x Blue Plus, Coral plus, and Actinic). If you want more supplementary spectrum and less shadowing T5's are still a good addition to LED's. Today's LED's have less gaps in spectral output than in the past, and the Orphek bars are a great option, I agree. My T5's are only on from 10am to 2pm, so just for the peak period in my schedule. The LED's are on the rest of the time for ramp up and ramp down. With a 40B even 2 T5's with an LED fixture is going to be a lot of light if they are both on at the same time. I have two Black boxes and two 36" T5's over a 60 Frag that's 4'x2' and it's more than enough. Four T5's over a 40B would need to have the LED turned off when they are on or the par would be over 400 at the bottom of that shallow of a tank.
Would a couple of Orphek LED bars be something you'd consider? They get very close to Blue+ T5 and never need to have the bulbs replaced. And two of those would put you right in the same price range after you buy the T5 bulbs and they have great mounting options.
Yea that's pretty sweet. I just ended up getting the Aquatic Life it actually wasn't as wide as I thoughtHere is my setup on my lagoon. Two OR3’s and an XR30 Blue.

So jealous anytime I see pictures of a dedicated fish/equipment room. It's a completely diy retrofit. This isn't something I would have in a living space. The mounts and wires are mostly inside the black boxes. The ballast is actually a spacer for the boxes.
