Are Hydor Koralias worth it????

I have two Evo 1400s in my 90g on a wavemaker, and I love them. The old ones were trouble if you tried to use them on a timer; the Evolutions are great on a timer.

And they are cheap, too... IMO you can't touch them with anything else in that price range.

I'd like to have Tunzes in the new tank build, but truthfully I will probably add two more 1400s for a total of four... because a much harder question for me to answer would be "Tunzes/Vortechs- worth it?". Sure they are great pumps, but something in my brain says that $700-800 worth of powerheads is about as rational as a gold plated filter sock holder. :)

Thanks everyone. I went the Koralia route and put two 1050s in my 55 and they are on a wave maker (Thanks Jenn). Great meeting you yesterday by the way.

So far so good with them, they are certainly putting out a ton more flow out then the Maxis I had in there. I am almost concerned that there is too much flow....but I will be watching closely today to see if there are any adverse affects.

As long as your sand and inverts aren't flying all over the place you will be happy with that much flow, keeps everything nice and clean...

They are definately great and well worth the money! If you watch the club sponsor forums, you may find even better deal if you're in no hurry.

That's not too much if you aim them reasonably carefully. LilRobb had 2 K4s and one K3 in a 55, and the tank was very successful (and his sand even stayed in place). :)
