I recently purchased a <span style="font-size: 13px;">asm g</span><span style="font-size: 12px;">-1x protein skimmer but the thing came with no directions as to how to operate it on a day to day basis. I was able to put it together properly and it seems to be skimming properly (sucking out thick dark gunk). </span>

My question besides rinsing the collection cup every few days, what is the maintenance schedule on this thing? Is there any internal cleaning or breaking down that needs to be done in order to keep it working properly for the long haul?
