What is the best way to control asterina starfish?

Don't Harlequin shrimp snack on them?

Most Asterinas are harmless.

Harlequin shrimp will eat them but once the asterinas are gone, you have to supply them with more sea stars, because that's all they eat.

I have always had them,and they have never been a problem.But now I have had a population explosion. Some of my zoas are suffering.I keep picking 3 legged astrinas off of them.They don't seem to bother the paly's,just certain zoas.

Aren't most infestations the result of some resource imbalance? Otherwise, they wouldnt have the resources required to reproduce.

in this case I would say endless food supply (his zoas) and no natural predators...

One cure: Move your tank! That got rid of most of mine! LOL!!!!!

Harlequin shrimp got rid of mine. BUt you will need to suppliemt thier food source or find a new home.
