Getting ready to purchase a RO/DI unit (From BFS, I think, open to suggestions) and some type of auto top off. My current plan is to put the RO unit in my basement with a 50-100gal rubbermaid container, fill 5 gallon jugs out of the container and lug them up three flights to my office where my tank is.

My thoughts are that if I use the 5 gal jugs, then even if the auto top in my tank should go nuts and fill it up, my sump should hold around 5 more gallons without any major problems. Preventing a huge problem being on the second floor and probably a divorce. :D

Good work out plus, I would save a lot of money in expenses!

Any suggestions on how I might be able to do such a system?

Edit: BTW, I have a 90 gallon tank and losing about 1.5/2 gallons a day in evaporation.

That's what I do with my topoff water...

but I don't lug the topoff water up the steps.. (everything is on the first floor of the house..)

I don't think my wife is giving me a second floor option unfortunately! Not much I can do there! I was think the garage as a secondary place.

Think I saw this on MrSaltwaterTank.tv which I have been trying to pick up some pointers on. Don't know what everyones feelings are on that fella, but seems like pretty pratical advice most of the time.

Any chance you have a link or an example?
