Ato reservoir vessel

Thank you guys for all the input, I think I may have a solution. Ricky has an old 34 gallon hex tank and doberman13 suggested a kitchen cabinet from home depot and put maybe a granite top on.

Oh, an make sure the line coming out of the ATO reservoir doesn't end below the highest filled level of that container. That way it won't create a siphon.
This may cause a noise issue and/or splashing from the sump depending on your layout. To fix that, affix a section of 1/2" pvc so it stays about 1/2-1" above the bottom of the sump and then is long enough so the other end is higher than the ATO water level. Run your tubing from the ATO pump to just inside the top of that pipe. No more noise or splashing. ;)

Also keep in mind that even if the end of the tube is above the ATO water line - if the tube is under water (say the end of the tube is under water in the sump for instance) you'll create a siphon. Always be sure the end of the ATO line is completely out of the water.

I run my ATO lines to the display tank overflow area. The display tank is almost always higher than any ATO level will be. This prevents the ATO line from every being submerged if I turn off a return pump and the water levels in my sump rise.

Drilling a vent hole near the discharge end and it will break the siphon.
Doesn't need to be a large hole (example: like airline tubing).
An elbow can be added to direct the discharge from vent in a desired direction, just keep the end above water height & directed toward system/sump/etc.

I'd recommend a big ATO reservoir & Innovative Marine builds about as nice of a one as there is.
It's glass with a slide out fill drawer, to help prevent spills. Also has a cable slot for your ATO pump & a float/level indicator.
The 15 gal. model is $149 list, but it's been on sale at least twice in recent memory (10 or 20% off?).

Here's a video for you with link to Marine Depot below that-

This is fantastic, and exactly like something I was considering designing! It looks like it’ll fit perfectly in my stand next to the sump. What kind of pump/float system is best if they’re at the same level?
