I've got some GSP, clove polyps and some blue clove polyps I think would be neat to have growing on the overflow to cover it up. I want to frag the rocks and attach them to the acrylic to give it depth and not just have a flat wall of polyps. How well would aqua stick hold the small pieces to the overflow? Or, is there a different and better way?

If you can wait a few weeks, you can get some Mag Disks from Bulk Reef Supply at the group buy price.

Or if you can't wait, just get em now, not that much $$$. Of course, if you need instant gratification, contact Tim at Keen Reef. He may carry these, and I know I've seen "Frag Mags" at his store before.

aqua mend, the 2 part epoxy paste that you just need up and stick. HD has it and I Have used it in the tank. Tim @ keen reef has it also by another name and in a larer quantity.

I usd mag frags for my back wall and it worked great. Gives the depth and they spread to the overflow, plus if you want to put a coral like a hammer or frogspawn on there, they can be moved during water changes that pull your tank down.

Super Glue gets my vote, barring that, I'd try to two part mix.

Aqua stick would be too frustrating for that application as its not very sticky.

Are you sure the overflow is acrylic? Most overflows I've seen are a different plastic, like PVC or PP or something else.

Yes. The overflow is a DIY. I figure I'm going to try a little each and see how it goes.

It's the handyman's secret weapon ;)

Only question - what if down the road you "change your mind"? Would those adhesives come off? Or would they permanently mark the overflow? Just something I'd be thinking about for the long-term.

The magnet thing looks interesting because it would be removable.

Hackman,

If you go to my Solana 34 build thread you can see the mags in action on post 28, there are frogspawn, GSP and daisy polyps attached to the back wall of my tank. The lasted photos you can see a little of the back as well, but unfortunately I cut those off in the photo.

I have had them mounted there for about four months or so and could pretty safely remove the mags with the GSP and daisies as they both have migrated and attached to the overflow wall now and are spreading on their own.

Wonder if you could "rent" that thing out to people who want GSP on their back wall as well. Figure out a per month charge and dropoff/pickup at the meeting. If they need it another month to get good and attached, just another month's "rent".

Those are pretty cool. That's a lot of what I'm looking for. I'll try those when the power buy rolls around.
