holy cow i just got my 60 lbs of rock in hloy toledo batman this rock is the best i have ever seen . theres about 20 corals sps, lps and zoos , purple,orange,white yellow blue and red sponge every kind of macro algie. at least 3 different colors of coraline algie. got a free sea cucumber two pistal schrimp and some bad (mantis which hit the trash). there looks to be fetherdusters everywhere. man this raock is awsome . check out the pics tell me what you think. and this is mericultured rock .:thumbs:

i used a micro scope to get all the crabs and bad stuff i could off the rock .the rock that had no holes and i could tell there was nothing bad went into the display the rest in the 30 gal for qt till its safe. the first pic is my 231 dt tolal 321 gallons system.and more pics lol.:D

Sweet, looks like lots of life. Be careful of the dye-off. Do you have a good skimmer on that system?
 
yea i got a good skimmer and i got it from ebay ill tell you who in a while soon as i kan check.
 
That looks to be a lot of halimeda on that rock. If you have metal halides, that stuff will really take of in your system and if it's roots are embedded in the rock it can be problematic.

In gardening, a weed is described as any plant that is growing where it isn't wanted, and it's not so different in a display tank.

Just make sure you remove all of the unwanted vegetation or your tank will look really weedy very quickly.

I've never heard of a tang eating halimeda. Not saying it can't happen, but...

That stuff eats up a lot of calcium too, so if you have SPS you'll need to stay on top of it.
