We did 2 dive Sunday..The sites were "The Strength" and "Bridge Span No.1"

Take note of the white object under some steel plates...Had to see what that was....It was a grouper being eaten by an octopus!! Cool!!

I had to come back twice to it to see how he was progressing.

More later if ya want...don't want bore anyone with my insane need to take pictures!

Those shots are insane. I love them, you need to post more. Did you mess with that Mantis? How big was it? It looks like it is glowing.

Excellent and BIG thanks for posting the images. I love looking at aquariums and how beautiful they are, but the real thing is hard to beat.

How much does something like that cost to go n dive, and on top of that how much does it cost to get a licence to go by your self, always wanted to just never found the resourses to get the info?

Based on his home, the mantis was about 8 to 12"......Only guessing though, cause he would not go out of the hole. The hole was about 2 inches in diameter...there was LOTS of holes on these sites...so lots of Mantis!!

The dive of the Hovercraft and the Satge 2 site was insane!! I was completely engulfed in schools of baitfish....!!!! fun stuff....if you can't get excited about diving after seeing that, your dead!

The trip cost $500......I added a few dives so the whole 4 days was about $650...... Includes everything but meals and getting to the shore.

To get certified will cost about $600.....

once u get certified can u go by yourself, what is a good place to go snorkeling on an reef that wont break a poor mans wallet? me n my girl have been wanting to go forever but dont want no guided stuff

Closest place for you to do that is in Key Largo..Pennecamp State park..(spelling?) was not my strong suit....

As for cost...it is all relative...I feel $500 for what we did was steal.....

Once you are certified as a diver, you can go diving alone of course, but you may die.....:) You never dive alone or in place where you have no local knowledge....you will die....and furthermore, why would you want too? That's no fun.....

You will die....

NEVER dive alone.....lets say it togeher now YOU WILL DIE......

How you getting out to dive sites without a guide? With limited bottom time, I want someone to tell me what we can expect form the dive, the conditions of the dive, the dive plan, etc......this is a serious sport...

Snorkel all you want alone, but as soon as you go under the waves, always have a partner..

Awesome pics Todd.... the octo is an sweet find!
Thanks for sharing the experience!

well my girl would be with me, but just for start where is a decent place to get a reef experience by snorkeling?

If you mean coral reefs, you got to go to the Keys..... or the Carribbean.

ouch...my old man was telling me that it is like 400 a night for a room in the keys...oh well i guess when i can stop blowing 500 a pay check on my tank i may be able to save up n go down there, thanks for the info though and if anyone wants to split the cost of gas and room with me n the girl shoot me a pm...i will sleep on the floor for a day of seeing what my tank should look like

Awesome pics man! Love the Octo one. Again I say ahh one day I will get my dive cert. LOL
