That's cute...I don't see why not. just put what you want in there. And at 80gph, that's a great flow rate for any media.

Yeah I guess I don't want it stinging everything but I'd love it to cover the sand. Speaking of which do I need to peel the mat from the rock it came on and put it in the sand or will it grow from the rock to the sand?

it "should" grow out. But will grow better/faster if it's on rock.

I just had an idea.... I'm going to throw some other small rocks right next to it and let it grow onto those.
