Well crap talk about bad luck this last week has been crappy.
1st last week my New Labouti wrasse decides he wants to get out and some how finds the little space that was open were my screen mesh lid was sitting a little off the track near the back corner of the tank and I didnt not find him in time. Then I added a new BRS 2 part doser a couple weeks back and I ran it with water to test it out and measured the water it dosed daily and felt good about it and then I get home today and about 16 oz. or 475ML was dosed last night. I just happen to look at the level of Alk in my holder and thought what the heck. I checked the Alk it was off the chart (RedSea) I noticed the timer I was using was a Stanley digital timer and it was on the blink so it looks like that was the cause. I did a 20% water change and added 3 gallons RO to get it down to 13dkh and I am checking every hour or so to monitor. I did drop my salinity, not by choice but I wanted the RO to try and dilute the Alk but now it looks like I am at 13dkh and 1.021 salinity I am going to give it a little time and work my salinity back up 1.025 over next 2 days
All the fish seem good and my cleaner shrimp are also doing good. Clam and dragon face pipefish also looking good so I hope I have done enough to keep my tank from crashing. This was a full SPS frag / growout tank
Sorry just had to vent a little Whewww:mad2:
