I don't remember exactly but from what I recall is there were two types manufactured. One from America and one from I want to say Japan. I also want to say the Japan versions were the better ones? Can't remember for sure though.
ReeFlo is American, strong and great warranty and customer service. The tridents are fairly new DC pumps so long term who knows. They did replace the problematic Blowholes and advertised as the solution to those problems. I have one and am happy but I only use it to push water change water to the tank from downstairs. Being adjustable is a plus but for the main return pump I'm not so sure it's at all needed.

Reeflo are Chinese pumps, not American. They used to be made in the USA until a few years ago.

OP: to reiterate what Grouper said. Pan World/BlueLine pumps (same thing) are really good and dependable, IME, as well.
And as was said, Iwaki pumps are great. I got so tired of seals busting on my Reeflo Hammerhead Hybrid I replaced it with a Japanese Iwaki.
