Man I wish I had a good camera to show the bristles on this guy. He was 8" in the tank but won't stretch out in the small Tupperware. Beautiful green color. Bet he packs a powerful sting.

No, this particular one is called the bearded fireworm, you can look it up. lol.

He should be called the majestic emerald worm though. Too bad I have to let him die. I don't want to get stung!

The only problem is the bristles come off and get stuck in your hand (pulled pic off the internet) and they are poisonous. lol.

Pro Tip: If you ever get stuck by a bristle worm, soak the affected body part in pure vinegar and they will dissolve in a few minutes. I know from experience.

That's crazy did you pull him out of your tank? Did he sneak in with the rock?

It's a fireworm. No more of a threat than a bristleworm, except the sting hurts a bit more.

Neither are a threat to healthy livestock. They will clean up deadstock quickly and efficiently.

I'd have left it, FWIW. And my fingers have looked like the ones in the picture, on many occasions

Love thy worms.

Now if it was a Eunicid worm, that's a different story - but it's not.
