40gB tank, c2c overflow,

Will 3/4 drains be adequate ? I would THINK so...?

Thanks
B

;)

what size pump? depends, i would say yes as you would have 2 working drains

Well I'm going to have to pick up a pump. Only spare I have now is a mag7, and I feel like it will be too strong

;)

you need around 200 gph (40g x 5x) after head loss. you dont want the low much faster through the sump.

I have a loop in mine so if i wanted to go larger i could do a bypass amd it loop back amd not go through the sump. But with a mag 7 depending on the headloss you might get away with dailing it back.

I agree with Grouper. As long as you don't stop flow entirely it will have no ill affects on the pump to dial it back. And, to your original question, I believe you will be fine with 3/4" drains.

ok.. I just didn't want to cause extra stress on the pump, but if its ok, I can easily plumb a valve in there and turn it down
