I was going to order some Berghia nudibranch to get rid of aiptasia on some of the live rocks, Wanted to see if anyone else want to tag along, I was looking to get it from salty underground, their website is saltyunderground.com, if anyone wants to check there before deciding. They are 15 a piece + prorated shipping. I will be placing an order next week, probably on wed for thursdays delivery. Please post requests on this thread so I can keep track in one place. thanks.

renting? That is an interesting concept, anyone in the atlanta area doing this? How much would you pay as rent?

Although renting Berghia nudibranches is an interesting idea, once the current renter is done with them, then they'll come back to you and you'll need a tank of aptasias to feed them or they'll perish quickly.

An alternative would be to sell them at or near (85-90%) your cost, so that the next reefer gets rid the aptasias from his tank and meantime you've recouped most if not all of your money. By selling them, you won't have to worry about them dying in the rentors tank, or trying to arrange getting them back, etc...

Just offering a suggestion,

Bob

Don't mean to be a downer, but I would read this thread before purchasing.

Thanks Rob, So How did you finally get rid of them? I guess I could get a CB... I had a banner fish once that did a good job of clearing them....

I'm not sure if you understand, but the way it works is that you buy 3 or 5 nudibranchs and you need them to reproduce to make any real dent in the aptasia population. These guys are about the 3 - 5 mm long.

I've yet to get rid of the aptasia. Since I've sold my carpet anemone's I've only manged to find one Copperbanded butterfly, and it didn't eat anything and died in 3 weeks. I've been searching and I've yet to find another one.
