For people that are just starting out with their aquarium adventure.......What's the most important advice that you've ever received from ARC Members and/or these forums?

For me it would probably be placing your rock work on the bottom of the tank prior to adding your sand. Without doing any research, I would have added my sand and then placed my aquascaping on top of it. If that were the case I would've had an avalanche at this point! My goby has moved enough sand out from under my rock and has completely covered other areas. I like that he's keeping the substrate clean, but OMG!!!!

To quiet the toilet flushing sound my drain pipe was making the night I sat up my first system with a sump, Danny Bradley told me to shove tubing in the drain pipe, which helped 99%

I was ready to post here in the forums for someone to come get my tank for free, I was so sick of that terrible sound! I really mean that!

Discovered that one on my own while building my DIY HOB Overflow. Sure glad I did.

Best advice I received......become a paying member. Changed the whole experience for me.

Or....If the spending doesn't stop seek psychological attention.

When I screwed up, there were plenty of folks willing to say they had similar experiences, and then others would compassionately offer solutions. I love the community feel that this site offers.
